Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Training: Pipeline to the Workforce of the Future

In 2022, Medow Consulting developed the report Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Training: Pipeline to the Workforce of the Future for UA Canada, one of Canada’s largest construction unions. This report, produced in collaboration with UA Canada subject matter experts, provides an overview of foundational information regarding the skilled trades and apprenticeship, and how they work, with a focus on the construction, service, and maintenance industry and the building trades that serve it. It also explores the key challenges facing skilled trades and apprenticeship systems in Canada and proposes a blueprint for developing the skilled trades workforce of the future.
