James White - Senior Associate

James is an experienced researcher and policy analyst who uses interdisciplinary approaches to explore policy and research issues.  Before joining Medow Consulting, James served as a research analyst focused on economic affairs at the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto, briefing diplomatic officers on emerging trends and policy including infrastructure, business development, and pandemic responses within Canada. He has engaged a range of government and private sector stakeholders through his time at the consulate and his previous work in sales in the construction industry.

James holds a PhD in East Asian Studies: Gender and Culture and an M.A. in Japanese Language and Society from the University of Sheffield (UK), a Master's in Japanese Studies from SOAS, University of London (UK) and a B.A. in History from the University of Sheffield. He is currently completing a certificate in Public Administration and Leadership at Toronto Metropolitan University.

James currently sits on the City of Pickering's Heritage Pickering Advisory Committee. His policy interests include equity, economic and social policy, and gender.
